As a multi-pilot course, the pre-entry requirements for the D228 type rating are the same as for any other initial multi-pilot aeroplane type rating course as set out in Part-FCL:

• 70 hours pilot-in-command of aeroplanes
• A valid and current multi-engine instrument rating
• Frozen ATPL
• MCC qualification
